Panteinion Hall is an exciting and unique Guest House situated in the beautiful scenic wooded Panteinion Valley opposite the falls.

We’re perfectly positioned in the valley just below the spectacular “Blue Lake” as featured on BBC’s Secret Britain, less than 1 mile to the beautiful Fairbourne beach and Fairbourne Narrow Gauge Steam Railway along with many other fabulous attractions.

Surrounding Area

Panteinion Hall represents the perfect launch pad from which to explore Snowdonia National Park, the welsh coastline of Cardigan Bay, North & Mid Wales.

Discover Nature, Explore the souring mountains of Snowdonia, the beautiful scenic inland countryside walking routes, or refreshing coastal paths which wrap around the whole area.

Our neighbouring villages are the pretty little towns of Barmouth, Dolgellau & Tywyn which are all a short drive away. We are also within easy reach of Coed-y-brenin, Betws-y-coed, Ffesttiniog, Harlech, Aberdovey to name but a few…

Fairbourne Beach
The beautiful beach of Fairbourne is less than 1 mile from Panteinion Hall, only a brisk 12 minute walk. Views from Fairbourne beach stretch along the coast from Barmouth round across Harlech and up past Porthmadog and Pwllheli and beyond. Horse riding on the golden sands being a must!
Barmouth Beach
You can drive to Barmouth or why not have your own little adventure by catching the Fairbourne Narrow Gauge Steam train to the end of the line and then hopping onto a small ferry boat which will take you across to Barmouth, great fun for all the family.
Fairbourne Narrow Gauge Steam Railway
The Fairbourne Railway has been running from Fairbourne Village to the mouth of the Mawddach Estuary, connecting with ferry to Barmouth for over 100 years. An absolute must!
SUP Barmouth
Stand up paddle boarding in the beautiful surroundings of the Mawddach Estuary, Barmouth, North Wales. Paddleboarding is one of the fastest growing water sports in the world and it’s easy to learn to do! It’s a great outdoor fun activity for all the family and a great laugh for a group of friends.
King Arthurs Labyrinth
This is a fun filled adventure for the family, you’ll be swept away by boat through the magical veil of an underground waterfall into a mythical world filled with dragons, giants, fierce battles and the legendary King Arthur. Ancient legends from Wales unfold as you’re guided through the labyrinth by a hooded Dark Age boatman.
National White water Centre
White water rafting, there sessions takes you crashing down the upper Tryweryn’s grade 3-4 natural Welsh mountain white water rapids, seriously fun for all above 12 yrs.
Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway
A magical combination of truly spectacular landscape and historical railway.
Zip world – Zip World Penrhyn Quarry
If you’re looking for an adrenaline rush than this is it! Zip world has the longest zip wire in Europe, it’s the nearest thing to flying. Or why not try out Bounce Below in the slate caverns, Forest Coaster and treetop nets, fun for all the family.
Snowdon, is the highest mountain in Wales, 3560ft above sea level. It is located in Snowdonia National Park in Gwynedd, and is described as “probably the best mountain in Britain”.

Conway Castle
Ancient world heritage site, the castle and town walls are amongst the finest surviving medieval fortifications in Britain, well worth a visit.
RUN Coedy Brenin
The UK’s first bespoke trail running centre. Running trails from 1 mile shoe test route to 2.7 mile inspiring trail or a challenging 13.5 mile half marathon. Coed y Brenin’s five way marked running trails are ideal for both novice and more experienced runners helping to progress off road running skills and improve endurance.

Great fun for everyone of all ages and abilities. 9 Craft studios, candles, soaps, & home scents, chocolates, truffles & fudge, contemporary Celtic jewellery, Glass sculptures, Gin & wild Welsh botanicals, handmade pottery, lotions & remedies, natural forest furniture and personalised wooden toys and gifts.
Bwlch Gwyn Farm
Pony Trekking, horse riding in Gwynedd, north Wales. Bwlch Gwyn Farm is a working sheep and cattle farm offering riding lessons, pony trekking and even a gallop on Fairbourne beach.
There’s so much to do in Wales, you’ll be so spoilt for choice and will need a second weekend back with us to fit some more in.
